But what are they saying? It’s a tragedy, but @patrickmanning (the fake humorist) is far more engaging as a Twitter and Blog author than @meetmanning the shamelessly ghostwritten presence of the Prime Minister of Trinidad and Tobago on the campaign trail. Big clue? No “my dear friends” to be found anywhere.
All the rest are dropping personality for rhetoric with every authored word. This isn’t going to engage anybody, far less the restless youth who inhabit social media, I’m afraid.

LOL! You’re right Mark but I don’t think they’re actually tweeting – I doubt President Obama did it all himself but hey occasionally….Who knows? It could just be the start! 4 more weeks may = new and better tweets? Hmmm!

  2. Game Well and Truly Over Says:

Mark beat me to it. These twitter accounts mean nothing if they fail to engage with the electorate. I sent @meetmanning a DM asking if Mr. Manning actually ever sees the @replies from that twitter account, and there was no response.

But then we are talking about someone who doesn’t want to debate in real life. I guess it’s too much to ask for him to converse in the twitterverse.

I am just glad they are at least TRYING to reach the youth via this medium. Who uses it best will also be evaluated post election. Many of us (regular AND political folks) are still learning the technology. DMs need responses. Let’s hope you get a response soon.
